According to tradition, George Washington, America’s first president, chopped down a cherry tree when he was a young man. His father was upset and wanted to know who had cut down such a wonderful tree. Young George answered, “I can’t tell a lie, Pa, you know I can’t tell a lie. I did cut it down with my hatchet”. George didn’t know a little ladybug remained on one of the branches and brought him good luck for all of his days. It pays to always tell the truth!
